Shape the future of your local area through the preparation of a community-led neighbourhood plan
We are working closely with local communities throughout the Cheshire region to help shape Neighbourhood Plans and assist them in safeguarding their local environment. As the leading local environmental conservation organisation, we collaborate closely with Local Authorities and Natural England to develop the environmental evidence base used to inform planning policy and, as such, are ideally placed to help you prepare a robust plan that is underpinned by planning policy and relevant environmental legislation.
What we offer
Our services include, undertaking a detailed appraisal of local wildlife and ‘biodiversity assets’ to inform a habitat map, which will highlight areas of ‘high value’ and ‘medium value’ habitat in your local environment. Additionally, we can help identify and develop wildlife corridors/local ecological networks, as set out in the NPPF, and offer our expertise to help develop robust policies that ensure the wildlife corridor is designated and the natural environment is better protected. It is imperative that Neighbourhood Plans are based upon accurate and up to date information and at Cheshire Wildlife Trust we have access to a wide range of environmental datasets. We also have detailed local knowledge so that your plan can be tailored to local priorities.
